Each student's Jewish

journey is unique.

Teens experience the

freedom to reach beyond

the familiar for

answers - to prepare

them to

become leaders in the

Jewish community.

This is JTConnect.

Welcome to Jewish Teen Learning Connection - JTConnect!

We are so excited for you to join us on our journey... and what a journey it is. We are growing and changing, learning and exploring, socializing, connecting and having fun, together.

JTConnect is a private nonprofit program for Jewish teens. Teens engage in Jewish programming on Sunday mornings or Monday nights in West Hartford or at special events throughout the year. The entire Greater Hartford community is invited to visit.

At the heart of everything we do is an understanding of how—and what—teens like to learn and do. We inspire our teens to become passionate Jewish leaders and active participants in the Jewish community. We instill in them a love for all that Judaism represents. Satisfy your curiosity with any one of JTConnect’s programs!

AT JTCONNECT, LEARNING IS ACTIVE.

JTCentral/JTAwakenings: - 8th-12th graders explore & debate all aspects of Judaism--from Krav Maga to Theology--with some of the best teachers in our community.  Flexible scheduling helps teens fit learning & socializing into their busy schedules.  JTCentral courses meet weekly on Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:40 p.m. at Beth El Temple in West Hartford and JTAwakenings courses meet weekly on Sunday mornings from 10:30 a.m. - noon at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford.

JTCares: Combining teens' intellectual curiosity with their desire to make a difference is the focus of JTCares.  In this series, teens study Judaism's view on various real world problems, such as hunger, homelessness & caring for the elderly, & then volunteer their time serving people & communities in need.  Programs meet monthly on Sundays from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at various venues around the community.

JTWOW!: – Using the community as classroom, teens take a hands-on approach to experience what it means to be Jewish today through JTWOW!. Programs like the Teen Leadership Conference, Hanukkah Party Bus, & Ziplining & Teva enable teens to see the world through the lens of Judaism, develop leadership skills, & connect Jewishly with other teens.  Open to teens in grades 8-12.

Gurlz JAM: - Meeting in a variety of venues, like the mall & beauty salons, makes Gurlz JAM programs special for middle school girls & their moms.  The fun is balanced with meaningful conversation about Judaism's perspective on balancing beauty, vanity & valuing oneself as a Jewish woman today.

JTCommunity: - JTCommunity's mini-series and interrelated programs offer teens many different opportunities to create community in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them.  Held at a variety of times and in a multitude of venues, JTCommunity programs are short term and support teens where they are geographically, educationally and spiritually.

JTScholars: - At JTConnect, we believe that no teen should be deterred from continuing with his or her Jewish education because of the cost of doing so.  In addition to providing scholarship money to Jewish teens, JTScholars also offers incentives for teens to attend as well as defrays the costs of programming to make it affordable to all.
